What you need to know
The WHO - Should Attend
Who will benefit most from this training? Executives, sales staff and other professionals who are already engaged in making presentations and want to improve their delivery.
The WHY - Improvements
- Speak with more effectiveness, confidence, authority and persuasiveness.
- Deliver concise and compelling formal presentations.
- Improve your ability to respond to questions in presentations.
- Communicate effectively under pressure.
The WHAT - Course Format
This workshop is NOT one-way. It is coach-led and interactive. It is intended to simulate a live presentation – including the audience. It includes practice and constructive feedback from the workshop coach/other participants.
The HOW - Principles
Explain and reinforce what we want to do and why.
Demonstration – show by way of example – what should it look like.
Imitate – the opportunity for practice and feedback.
Review – what did we learn, what was difficult, what might we have changed.
What you can expect
1Pre-work
Each participant will be expected to submit a short (11 slides) PowerPoint presentation. It should be a presentation that has already been given or is going to be presented soon.
2Number of participants
The minimum number of participants is 12 with a maximum of 20. The rationale is that we are trying to simulate a meeting where participants would be presenting.
3Active participaton
All participants will be required to interact as an audience and/or as presenters. This is not a workshop for the faint of heart.
4Practice on camera
A camera/sound technician will be present and all presentations/interactions will be captured along with individual feedback from the coach and audience. Each participant will receive a personalized link following the workshop.
What should participants take away from this training...
Regardless of the specifics of what is learned, this training should result in an IMMEDIATE effect. The impact should be on the very next presentation you make. More specifically, participants will:
- Recognize when/how to use facts, emotion, and anecdotes to enhance delivery.
- Appreciate the factors that play into talk track coherence.
- Have a better understanding of how to read a room and the DOs and DON’Ts around answering questions.
- Clearly understand what to avoid to deliver a great presentation.
